Overview: About PROMYS India
"If you love Mathematics, believe me, you will never walk alone at PROMYS." Sanket Biswas, Mehta Fellow to PROMYS 2019 and 2020
What is PROMYS-India?
PROMYS India is a partnership of PROMYS with the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru. A challenging six-week summer programme, PROMYS India is designed to encourage mathematically talented secondary school students (Standards IX - XII) to explore the creative world of mathematics.
Meet Professor Ila Varma (University of Toronto), the Director of PROMYS India; Professor Aditya Karnataki (CMI), Associate Director of PROMYS India; Professor Philip Engel (University of Georgia); and Professor Glenn Stevens (Boston University), the Director of PROMYS.
PROMYS India is an offshoot of the PROMYS programme which has been running at Boston University in the United States since 1989. Conceived thanks to a partnership of PROMYS with the philanthropists Nick and Avi Nash, PROMYS India developed from a pilot programme, the Mehta Fellowships to PROMYS.
